I've bought both issues of this series with some trepidation. Usually the comic is never as good as the series but this is AMAZING. The voices of the characters, the feel of the time period, the subterfuge of this particular Doctor...it's all perfectly captured. And the art compliments the period too with exquisite little inside jokes for the true fan in the crowd scenes.
I'm not familiar with the first Doctor's oeuvre but the issue #1 was so pleasurable and clever it made me go out and buy one of the DVDs. The 2nd Doctor is my favorite and I'm pleased he was well represented. I can't WAIT to see what IDW does with the 3rd Doctor (he and #2 trade places depending on the time of month).
